What are STDs?
Sexually transmitted diseases, previously known as venereal diseases, are infections passed from one person to another, usually during vaginal, anal or oral sex.
They are very common, and many people who have one have no symptoms at all. That is exactly why testing matters whether or not you feel anything is wrong. Left untreated, STDs can cause serious, lasting health problems.
The good news is that getting tested is not complicated, and most of these infections are easy to treat.
