Why early detection matters

Breast cancer found early is far more treatable than breast cancer found late. That is the whole reason this program exists — and it is why we go out to the places where a mammogram can mean a day of lost wages and an hour of driving.

We teach breast self-awareness, arrange the clinical exam, book the mammogram, and if a result comes back abnormal we do not hand you a phone number and wish you luck: we schedule the diagnostic testing and follow you through it.

The education class is open to everyone, in every area we serve. There is nothing to qualify for and no paperwork to bring. We hold most of these classes in rural communities, because that is where the nearest mammogram is farthest away.

The list above applies only to the no-cost mammogram. Consider it if you or someone you know meets those criteria, and if you are not sure whether you qualify, call us — working that out is our job, not yours.
