Much of the community we serve is older, or lives with a disability, or reads on a cheap phone over a slow connection. A website they cannot use is a website that excludes exactly the people it was built for.
What we aim for
This site is built to meet WCAG 2.1 level AA.
What that means in practice
- Every color combination has been measured, not eyeballed. Text meets the contrast the standard requires, including the small print.
- It works with the keyboard alone. You can reach every link, button and form field with Tab, and you can always see where you are.
- It works with a screen reader. Images have descriptions, forms have real labels, and headings follow an order that makes sense when read aloud.
- It works without JavaScript. If scripts fail or are blocked, the forms still send and the content is still there.
- Nothing moves on its own if your system says you prefer reduced motion.
- Light and dark themes, both with the same contrast.
- Three languages: English, Spanish and Haitian Creole. Not machine translation left as-is: a native speaker reviewed the Creole.
- It is light. The homepage is under 100 KB, so it opens on an old phone with a weak signal.
How we check
Every release is audited with Lighthouse. The site currently scores 100 in accessibility on every page we measure.
But an automated audit only catches part of it. It cannot tell whether a text is understandable, or whether a form makes sense to someone filling it in while worried about a diagnosis. For that we need you.

Tell us and we will fix it. You do not need to know what the problem is called or use any technical term — telling us what you were trying to do and what happened is enough.

And if the website gets in your way, do not fight it: call us. Everything you can do here you can also do by phone — ask about a program, register for a service, or find out about an event. The website is one door, not the only one.
