What is high blood pressure?

High blood pressure, also called hypertension, is blood pressure that is higher than normal. Your blood pressure changes throughout the day depending on what you are doing. When the measurements stay above normal consistently, that can lead to a diagnosis of high blood pressure.

High blood pressure usually has no symptoms. Most people find out only when someone measures it — which is why we measure it for free at every event we hold.
